Honeymoon cancun hotel resort??

Question

In July, we are finally planning to take our honeymoon, but there are many hotels to choose from that we are confused. Please help us figure out which one to choose for our romantic getaway..

I have been 4 times, first time was for our honeymoon.  1st time, we stayed at Hyatt Regency, not the tower.  It was beautiful, but the beach was choppy and you couldnt swim, and it was far from all the clubs and shopping so you had to take a cab everywhere.  The next 2 times we stayed at the tip of Cancun, used to be called Camino Real.  Cheap, not as nice, but a great beach-very calm, and close to shopping, food and clubs.  You can walk to alot from there.  last time, last year, we stayed at Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach, definitely the best.  I had wanted to stay there since my honeymoon but we couldnt afford it.  It was worth it, they upgraded us to a suite for free, and it was complete luxury all the way.  Right next to Camino Real, so the beach is the same and it is close to everything.

You may want to get into town since its your first time in cancun....be sure to get a place on the beach....if you want try the palace resorts....goggle them and take a look...we have our time share there...

riu palace is #1 -- very romantic setting, great food, smaller than many, better value than fiesta.  great layout, views, service, and food.

My wife and I got married in Riviera Maya, which is near Cancun, but is a little more secluded and romantic than the party scene in Cancun. We stayed at the Aventura Spa Palace, and I highly recommend it. One downside is that it doesn't technically have a beach (it's more of a lagoon), but you can visit any of the other Palace Resorts in the area and use their beach, restaurants, etc...for free!

We went last May and actually stayed in Playa del Carmen instead of Cancun.  It was great!  A friend suggested that we stay at one of the Riu resorts, and we were completely satisfied with both the beaches and the resort.  You can also see Cozumel off in the distance.  The water was so blue and the sand was fairly white....and it is just 30 minutes from Cancun's airport.

we stayed at the Royal Hideway in Riveria Maya. GREAT place.  we are going again for out 10 yr anniversay.  no kids.  very warm, welcoming.  highly recommend
