Honeymoon ideas...?

My fiance and I will be getting married in April 2009, and I was wondering what your inputs were for the perfect honeymoon destination. We'd really like to leave the country and we've gotten so many suggestions (various parts of Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean) its hard to narrow them. From experience, or word-of-mouth, what would you all say is a great destination for newlyweds? Some where warm, preferably wtih a coastline that's quiet for romantic evenings but yet has a great nightlife in case we want to go out and have fun. Can you please include why you recommend your destination? Thanks in advance!

  1. I would recommend the Napa Valley.  Even though I live in SF, I just spent a week up there in April.  The weather was great...sunny and warm, but not too hot.  It is very romantic with great hotels...suggest Yountville at the Villagio Hotel and Spa....VERY nice...fireplace in the room, great pool and spa, wonderful breakfast every morning and close to all the great wineries.  Also in town actually across the street from the hotel are several world class restaurants...the French Laundry, Redd, and several others.  So you are out drinking wine all day, late afternoon poolside, wonderful restaurants at night.  What more could you ask for.  Not sure where you live, but you are also a stones throw from Sonoma and SF.  hello??

  2. Wow, looks like Crayons is having a bad day and took it out on you.  :)  El Dorado Royal is an absolutely amazing adults only resort in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico.  It's on the beach, very private, and they will cater to any and every need you may have.  My fiance and I plan to be married at the resort in June.  Hope you like!

  3. Everyone goes to the freaking Caribbean or Mexico. Go somewhere original, but still beautiful. That are lots of beautiful places in Eurasia and Asia. Why does it always have to be so "tropical" with you honeymooners? I was born and raised in a tropical area, and honestly, I hate the weather. I would honestly go to Prague. But that is what I WOULD do.

Since I like to think for myself and be an individual.
