Honeymoon in Niagara Falls?

My fiance and I are planning an 8-day trip to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon. We'll be on the U.S. from Dec. 30 - Jan. 1 and then plan on hitting the Canadian side until Jan. 6.

I'm looking for suggestions on things to do while in the area. We already plan on going to the aquarium in New York and visiting the Ripley's museum in Ontario. Anything else?

Also, we want to do something really fancy and special (and cheap!) for New Year's Eve. Anyone know of a nice, cheap restaurant near the Falls?

That's no such thing as a "cheap" restaurant near the falls, sorry!  But there are some good ones.

Things to do - you'll be there during the festival of lights, and it's nice to drive the parkway at night to see all the Christmas lights on display.  During the day, I'm pretty sure the greenhouse will be open, and it normally has a very nice Christmas flower display.  Drive down to Niagara-on-the-Lake (you could spend an entire day there), there area a lot of shops and historic buildings there.  And some really good restaurants.  You could also plan on touring some of the wineries - a bit off-season, but they are still open, and have some of the best restaurants in the area.  Congratulations on your marriage, and have a fun honeymoon!

Add: I just remembered this - generally, there is a New Year's Eve concert on the Canadian side every year (as long as it isn't cancelled by lack on funding).  They usually have some decent (Canadian) bands, but bring your warm clothes if you want to go - it's outside, but there are fireworks!

you are looking at about 350.00 a NIGHT for a room in Niagara Falls Canada on New Years Eve. EXPENSIVE for sure.

You might want to check out the some of the smaller inns located in the region also it's only 1 hour and 20 minutes to Toronto.  There are things too numerous to mention to do there.
