  1. I would not go to Cancun but 50 mins south is a place called Playa Del Carmen. Much nicer, not so busy but enough places to party if you are that way enclined. Great food, drinks and beach. I was originally going to go to Cancun but most of the water is straight into the ocean and too dangerous too swim in.

  2. i think cancun it is romantic there and pretty cool there is alot of stuff to do

  3. If you are only deciding between these two, I say Jamaica. But that's because I love Jamaica, reggae music, and jerk chicken so much. If you must go to Mexico, I recommend staying near Cancun but not in Cancun itself. Someone else mentioned Akumal, I would also recommend Tulum or Playa Del Carmen.

Both choices are good, just choose your hotel carefully so you end up at a nice resort.

  4. Well I would reccomend Cancun!!! I will be hot. all the food is great. I say you stay at the Moon Palace if you go to Cancun.

  5. I have been to Cancun (which is in Mexico) and Jamaica as well as several other Caribbean Islands.   There are other Islands that I enjoyed far more that Mexico and Jamaica.  I recommend Turks & Caicos, St. Martin, Aruba, Cayman Islands as your best bets in terms of beach, quality of food and safety outside of the resort areas.

  6. Akumal, which is close to Cancun is more romatic and the water is warm year round

  7. I would not recommend Jamaica, not for weather reasons but for the reason that when I was there I felt so unsafe (even on a guarded resort).  Hotel employees were hitting on my 10 year old cousin, and my 12 year old sister constantly.  They would fallow them around yelling things like "hey baby, don't be afraid come over here for a minute".

Mexico is nice but yes it is cooler in the winter.  Most of the time the coolest waters come in february so in December they shouldn't be too bad.  It depends, if you are used to below freezing in the winter then mexico will feel warm either way.
