My man and I aren't really into the whole "sitting on a beach" thing.

Do you think it's a good idea? Has anyone done it? Any suggestions of where else in Orlando to go?

Thanks a TON I WILL be choosing a best answer ASAP :-)

  1. I don't think there are beaches in Orlando, but they are a close drive away...

In any case, my husband and I are like you--we can only sit on the beach for about an hour or two before getting bored.  There are tons of things to do around that area, so take advantage.  Rent a car so that you are more mobile and go on rides, Busch Garden, Kennedy Space Center, the spas, resorts, site seeing in general.

  2. Take a short cruise.

    Universal studios

Broadway Series Orlando Centroplex=top of the line broadway shows, direct from NY

  3. well not in or near orlando i dont

but there is a really nice beach less than 2 hours away from orlando, st augustine, its absolutly beautiful.

if you arent into the sitting on the beach thing, then why do it? its your honeymoon, you shouldn't do something you dont want to

  4. Orlando is full of fun things to do, and is right in the middle of the state.  You are only an hour away from Cocoa Beach, or Tampa (Busch Gardens).  Kennedy Space Center is located next to Cocoa Beach.

    Best wishes to you.

  5. I think if the two of you would both enjoy it, then absolutely.  It's not really about what people think is traditional or whatever...it's about you two.  I have never been there, so I dont' have any other suggestions for you..sorry.  but if you're not into the sappy mess, just go and do fun silly things!  go do that fake rock climbing or get a characture done.

    hope you have fun!

  6. If you're looking for a place with fewer kids, try staying at Coronado Springs at the Disney Resort.

And there's certain clubs you can join to that are throughout the parks that are just for adults.

  7. ummm are you looking for things to do in orlando??

  8. I think it's a great idea.  Me and my FI almost decided to go to Disney World for our honeymoon but decided not to since we are getting married in June and there will probably be a bazillion people there since school will be out for summer.  If we were getting married in October like we originally wanted, I wouldn't hesitate to book a honeymoon there.  There's tons of other stuff to do in Orlando like Universal Studios, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. Here's a website that might help you out.

  9. Hi and congratulations!

If you are going to Disney World....you don't have to worry about sitting on a beach!!  There are soooo many things to do and see.

I think it's a great choice so don't let others tell you otherwise.  Disney World is NOT strictly for kids and families.  There are plenty of adult things (and pricey restaurants too!) for the adults.

    Have fun!

  10. I think its also worth noting that there are no beaches in Orlando.

  11. Discovery Cove's Trainer for a Day program! It's an insanely involved, superfun experience. I did it two summers ago and will NEVER forget it! You get to spend the entire day at Discovery Cove (SeaWorld's sister park) in a wetsuit, learning, training, feeding, behind-the-scenes of the park! And did I mention the dolphins?! You get to train and swim with the dolphins three times during the day and these are not your typical "dips" with a photo op. You get IN the water and you give commands and it is SO amazing. Plus they pamper you, you get your own personal escort and she waits on you all day and meals, snacks and drinks are included! Check it out, I highly recommend it for anyone in the area who likes active vacations and enjoys water!

    Have fun!

  12. I visit Orlando every other month to see a friend.  We love Orlando!  If you're looking for something fun to do at night... you should go to City Walk... it's in between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  It's free to park and get in at night.  Then you just pay if you want to go to a certain club or restaurant.   They even have a pass you can buy where you can get into all of the clubs for like $20!  Margaritaville is always a hit!  And.. they have a HUGE movie theater that serves alcohol!  Check out this site:  http://www.universalorlando.com/citywalk...  It'll tell you all about it!

And.. depending on what time of year you're getting married...  Disney has a waterpark called Blizzard Beach!  It's awesome!!
