Hong Kong has defeated Poland in a thrilling group match in the Sudirman Cup 2011, at Qingdao, China, on Wednesday,
May 25.
The Hong Kong shuttlers played better badminton at some key moments and won the fight by a 3-2 margin.
In the first match of Men’s Doubles, Poland’s Wojciech Szkudlarzcyk and Lukasz Moren delivered a stunning performance
against Lok Kei Lo and Tsz Kit Chan of Hong Kong, in a straight-set match of 31 minutes.
In the opening set, the Polish pair played top class badminton and built pressure on their opponents in the second-half
of the set, to clinch the game by a tight margin of 23-21.
The second game was very easy for the Polish duo, as they finished the game in tremendous fashion by a huge difference
of 21-10.
In the Women’s Singles category, Hong Kong’s Tsz Ka Chan worked well against Anna Narel of Poland and emerged
as the winner in straight sets by consuming just 18 minutes. In the opening set of the match, Tsz Ka showed no mercy to Anna and finished the set by a one-sided margin of 21-10.
In the second set, Tsz Ka played superb and finished the game with a wonderful 21-5 score on the board.
Wing Ki Wong of Hong Kong emerged as the winner against Hubert Paczek of Poland in a rubber-set match of 47 minutes.
Wing Ki lost the opening set by a 15-21 margin, however, he bounced back in the match and clinched the remaining two sets with a 21-15 and 21-17 margin.
In the Women’s Doubles, Ying Suet Tse and Lok Yan Poon of Hong Kong tamed Anna Narel and Martyna Poprzecko of
Poland in straight-sets. The Hong Kong pair took only 20 minutes to chuck out the Polish duo with a 21-8 and 21-13 margin.
The final contest of the match was in the category of Mixed Doubles, where the Polish couple of Wojciech Szkudlarzcyk
and Nadiezda Zieba defeated Wai Hong Wong and Hoi Wah Chau of Hong Kong in straight games. The Polish duo consumed 26 minutes to beat their opponents by a 21-12 and 21-17 margin.
