Question:

Honor your father and mother craft ideas?

I need some ideas for a craft for my 2-3 year old class for this Sunday. It can't be too complicated because they're so young and I don't just want to print out a sheet and have them color it. Any ideas?

The link above is an alphabetized list of craft for toddlers and preschoolers.  If you go to the "M's" and "F's" for mother's day and father's day you will find crafts.  If you look around you will probably find other stuff you can use.  It's all in the right age bracket, so it will be a good start.

t would be very sweet to have a preprinted form that said something like "Mom and Dad, Thank you for..." Have each child tell you something they are thankful for from their mom and dad.  you get to be secretary and write it down for each child.  Then give them crayons and let them draw a picture that shows what they are thankful for.  Let each child "write" their name, to sign the letter.

Another take on this (If you are doing the commandant thing with "honour your parents") is for them to brain storm ways to show honour and caring to their parent - you will have to probably make a few suggestions as examples.  Then let them each draw a picture that shows them doing those sorts of things.  Good examples would be: following your parents rules, try to be a good person (This shows others what a good job your parents did in raising you!), do something nice for your parents, take care of your parents when you grow up and they get old, help your parents with chores (it's even better if you do it without being asked).... that sort of thing.

  3. ~ we use to make book markers in our sunday school pre-school age. Get some cardstock (heavey wieght colored paper) you need to draw and cut the cross out. (to hard for them) 5 inches high 3 inches across. hole punch in top of cross.Get some yarn, and some cheap plastic beads. Have the kids color the cross, string the yarn through the hole, cut string about 8 inches long, than the can string a few beads on the yarn. You tie the knot after the beads are on.

Takes appox 20min for 6-8 kids with 1 adult help.

    hope this helps.
