Ok..im like really smart..and everybody says its bad to belittle yourself especially if you know u have a lot of potential...so i signed up for all honors classes (im now in 9th.. today was the first day of school)but i dont have any friends in any of my classes..i mean i know they say that in high school you make new friends but i know that these kids will never end up being my friends..i had most of them in my class last year and i hated them..but should i drop out of all these honors classes..i know for sure that i want to keep honors geometry..but what about everything else..are honors classes really that important on transcripts..?? and what if i regret it later...all i want is to have fun in highschool..and be successful at the same time..what should i do??

P.S. My mom said she's going to talk to me about it when she comes home..how should i approach her without her getting angry..cause she's strict when it comes to focusing on school..i just want her to see where im coming from!!

  1. u're closest and most important friends are the ones u meet in college.  think about u're future instead of now.  u'll end up regretting it later...and trust me...later will soon.

  2. Honors classes are really helpful for your GPA.

I graduated in the top 10 percent of my class by taking Honors and AP.

Friends come and go, education is forever.

You're going into high school now. Time to grow up.

  3. Nahh you will be fine and you will have fun and be intellectually stimulated. You will find that your education takes you much farther than the amount of fun you can have.

  4. I would stick with the honor classes. I, too am going into ninth grade with all honors classes. You can try to get the same electives as your friends. You could also try After-school clubs and sports that you're friends are in. Tell your mom that Good grades are important to you, but having a social life is also important.

  5. Focus more on success than fun.

  6. i understand where your coming from, and i would say that there are people in these classes who you don't know and you'll end up being friends with them.  it's hard at first, especially on the first day, but things will hopefully get better. (i've had classes where i'm the youngest person in there and know only one other person in the class, and we were never friends)

but it's always good to take honors if you understand the stuff and can get good grades.   getting an A in english honors is much better than getting an A in regular english

  7. definetely stay in the honors classes

    "all work...no play...makes dough all day" =]

so yeah but you can still have fun after school and in the hallways with your friends

don't worry...it's probably better NOT to have friends in your classes so you can stay focused
