ok this ones a little confusing as well...

The zero of the linear function S is 3. The graph of this function intersects the vertical axis at S(x) = -2. Find an equation for S(x).

ok so -2 is the y intercept. but its confusing me because it writes it as a constant function. d**n YOU CONSTANT FUNCTIONS lol. and the 0 is 3 so im assuming 3 is the x intercept? so would i write it like (0,-2) and (3,0) and the find the slope y2-y1/x2-x1? making the slope 2/3? and then filling it in like s(x)= 2/3x -2?

so itd be s(x)=2/3x-2 ?

or is it another one of those constant functions?

im guessing its NOT because it has a 0 [which is 3]

anyone wanna tell me if im right?

  1. your right. the zero of a function is the x intercept and the function is linear so you can use that equation for slope
