Honourable Emperor looking for victory at Leopardstown – Facebook Race Preview
Honourable Emperor is likely to walk away with an honourable victory at Leopardstown racecourse where he is going to run in the Follow Leopardstown On Facebook Race on Wednesday, March 28.
The Noel Meade-trained bay colt seems to be quite ready to compete confidently against Vault, Furner’s Green, Hit The Jackpot, Alkazim, Light Heavy and Silver Sycamore.
The high-profile contest over 1m Good To Firm track has €13,000 in purse. Honourable Emperor will break from Trap 1 when the event starts at 5:25 (GMT).
The talented colt is on a hat-trick. After making his debut in December 2011, the novice runner finished first in his second race on January 27, 2012.
The maverick sprinter moved forward to notch up top spot in the third and last outing of his career on March 9. These two triumphs in a row have perked up his confidence to a great extent along establishing him as a favourite runner in the eyes of the bookmakers.
The three-year-old brilliant horse has earned £14,375 as prize money. He is expected to show a stunning performance in his first ever outing at Leopardstown and complete his hat-trick. His chances to thrive are more than 90 percent.
Among his competitors, Alkazim and Light Heavy look to be strong enough and each of the duo has potential to give tough time to the hot favourite runner.
Alkazim has been performing excellently since starting his career in June 2011. The David Wachman-trained bay colt earned a runner-up rank each in his first four races. After finishing fourth in a contest on October 1, he went on to grab second spot again
in his last start on November 4.
On the other hand, Light Heavy superbly achieved a runner-up position in the only race of his career on October 19, 2011. The trainee of J. S. Bolger is likely to do well again in today’s contest.
Though there will be a tough and close competition at Leopardstown but success seems to be bending on Honourable Emperor. Let us see how the favourite cold fights for honour.
