Hoof It, the expected absentee from the Qipco British Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday
Ascot each year turns and twists around the fate of several horses, not all get to be remembered as the part of the event because of course all cannot race at a time and thus then keep the Ascot as the next year’s objective at times.
The Qipco British Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday will find Hoof It in particular missing from the racing tracks that day.
Mick Easterby’s under charge, Hoof It could still not satisfy the connections with his progress. This is due to the losing of a shoe three weeks back which also resulted in Hoof It not being able to work properly for a week. These incidences have made the
connections uncertain about his entry in the Ascot.
David Easterby, the trainer's son and assistant, said: "It's still the same problem it was before, and we're working through it”.
"The overseas races are still options but we haven't made any decisions yet, we're concentrating on getting the horse sound. All our efforts are going into doing what is right by the horse as there is always next year”.
Trained by James Fanshawe, Deacon Blues has raced five times this season, acheiving a hat-trick after winning the Curragh on 7th August before which he claimed the Newbury and the Ascot.
He then won for the fourth time on 17th September at Newbury again.
His winnings are evenly shared by jockey J Murtagh and Frankie Dettori for this season.
Moonlight Cloud, trained by F Head, has raced five times this season. He has won the last two races he ran, both in partnership with Thierry Jarnet, but has also raced with Davy Bonilla.
Both the horses, Deacon Blues and Moonlight Cloud will seem to be the more welcoming betting options now that Hoof It is most likely not to attend the grand race.
Another uncertain entry at the Ascot this time is of Roger Charlton trained, Bated Breath but the trainer is already considering other options that he has for being represented at the event.
This Group Two will be a battle between Royal Rock, Dafeef, Medicean Man, Libranno and Wizz Kid, along with them there is a possibility of three more entries in the race, status still not certain.
