Hooked my sony cd player up to my car and it takes cds into it but other than that it doesnt work please help.

It has nothing on the screen, no buttons work except for the eject button.

It sounds like it's not getting power on the accessory power wire.  This is the red wire, and it should have voltage when your key is turned on.  Some newer vehicles don't have an accessory power lead behind the factory radio, in which case you'll need to find an alternate power source.  It's also possible that your vehicle has a blown radio fuse.

It's much more likely that you have a power or wiring problem than a defective head unit.

Stop listening to marketing ploys toss the Sony and buy some quality equipment... Alpine or something with reputation for quality not marketing for quality.....

Talk to the person who you purchased it from.  Could be defective or it might not be hooked up the the battery.
