Question:

Hooking my Creative Zen MP3 Player to my car Stereo

Hi all, I have a question regarding how to hook my Creative Zen MP3 player to my Car stereo receiver. I am buying the Pioneer P5000UB receiver, which has both USB and AUX input.

Now, I know that I can easily hook them together using the AUX input, but all that will give me is sound, and sound only. It won't charge my player, nor let me control my songs from the receiver directly.

Using USB will! Atleast it does with iPods. My Creative Zen uses a different connection than iPods do. It has a mini USB port. Do you think my setup will work if I simply buy a mini USB to USB cable?

Thanks for you time, and input. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. I've traveled this path before.  I have a Pioneer DEH-6900UB deck and hooked up the USB to mini USB cable and thought I'd be set.  Guess what?  Doesn't work.  However, if you're ZEN savvy, there is something you can do that will work.

Go into your ZEN's main menu and access the "removable disk" option.  Transfer your files onto your ZEN with it in "removable disk" mode (which you can allocate 1/2 your ZEN's memory).  Plug your ZEN to your P5000UB and access the USB on your deck, make sure your ZEN is on & in removable disk mode and you're set.  You'll be able to access all the music you put in your ZEN's removable disk by both your deck & your deck's wireless remote.

Best way to organize your music is to have single folders for the artist and the songs within the folder.

Hope this saves you some frustration.
