Hooking solar panels in series.?

I have a quadracycle with a 24vdc assist motor on it.

I want to build a canopy on it with solar panels. I assume that I can hook up two 12vdc panels in series. Is this so? Are there 24vdc regulators on the market to prevent overcharging?

yes, there are a lot of charge controllers available for 12 or 24 volts, depending on the wattage.
