Hooking up an antenna to my tv?

if i am using a rabbit ear antenna to catch a tv signal, can i hook a splitter up to the back of my tv and run two antennas and get a better signal?

  1. You dont, you put an antenna higher and point it in the right direction.

    on the roof is better than rabbit ears

    Afer Feb 09 they wont work any more without a converter box.

    SO you will be spending more money for a crappy signal


  2. No; that will decrease the signal.  Check in different locations and at various heights in the room for the strongest signal.

  3. Only is you like ghosts(caused by the time delay).Have you tried hanging foil on 1 ant.

  4. Every time you go through a splitter you loose signal strength. 3.5dBm for a two way splitter.This is probably more of a loss than you will gain by connecting two antenna's to the set.

    Not to mention the ghosting that will occur if both the antenna leads are not EXACTLY the same length.

    Don't do it.  Get a bigger antenna or a higher gain antenna, or an antenna pre-amp and put it on the antenna's output. (As close to the antenna as possible)
