Question:

Hooking up cable?

I am trying to hook up the cable to a new tv. There is no cable box, the cable comes from a cord through the floor. With the old tv, the cable cord went into the dvd/vcr player and then screwed into the back of the tv. That's not working now. I've tried everything I can think of. What am I doing wrong?

  1. There is a button that should be called "source" on the dvd/vcr player. Press it, you may not be letting the signal pass through.

Also, make sure that the terminators (end connectors) are not loose. If they are you may need to replace or fix the cabling.

  2. The cable from the wall or floor goes to antenna jack on the tv. Be sure the tv is set cable from the menu. run a channel search. that should do it if u have cable.

  3. The make/model of TV would have been nice. Check and make sure that if you are going through DVD/VCR the same way you did with the other TV, that you are in the right 'Input' mode; CABLE, Aux Video 1, etc...

If there is an 'Input' or 'TV/VCR' on the remote control, try pressing that a couple of times.

  4. Are you sure the cable is on? the cable has to be connected outside by the cable company for it to work inside. Also try changing in the tv menu the option antenna to cable.

  5. doesn't the tv have a cable plug in the back of it?

  6. try a professional

    comcast,DIRECT TV..ppl like that

  7. First of all cable is for noobs so i would say get direct tv or something of the sort and trash ur cable because once again cable is for noobs.

  8. you need to use your audio video cords. they are white red and black or blue, they should be color coated.

  9. see if there is a cable jack on the back of the tv.
