I have direct tv in 2 rooms in my house and I was wondering if I'm able to somehow get it to work in my room, but without the cord that is hooked into the 2 other receivers. I have an extra receiver box,so I was just going to put that in my room. My brother said something about a transmitter I could get to make it work? I have no clue. Not good with this kinda stuff.

  1. no, you need to have some sort of connection to the dish in order to get the DirecTV programming. Without that connection, your receiver will not get any programming information from the satellites.

If you want to have someone set up a line to the third room, you can call 1 800 531 5000 and pay to have a technician do it, or, if you know someone who IS good with this, you can have them do it so long as they are sure to use RG6 coaxial cable (anything else will NOT deliver the signal)
