Well he is moving to to Team Eckel Kawasaki next for sure now. This : http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_news.htm?menu=news&news_id=20381&championship_id=3&section=1 report is the full deal.

I for one will be happy to see a great rider on the kwack but will feel a little sorry for the whole Rizzla Team. They have worked so hard with John ( & Chris ). Im sure they are dissapointed in his move.

Good luck to the fella however.

Whats your thoughts guys?

  1. not really

  2. WOW! Kinda shocked. I gotta say I'm a big suzuk fan and a Hopkins fan (cali boy and all) and have always watched his career and hoped the best for dude. So Im kinda bummed, but I think I'll always wish him the best and watch his career anyways so o'well *DOH*

dang now I gotta go in my hot garage and take down the rizza/Hopkins posters. ha!

  3. I am extremely excited because he is currently my favorite rider now going to my favorite team!  I read that Kawasaki was also looking at Loris Capirossi and Marco Melandri.  He has did a lot with the development of the Suzuki and I think he will move the Kawasaki to the next level.  De Punet does a descent job in qualifying but in the races it is not the same.

I heard the money figures are outrageous so there is a good amount of pressure on him to start putting green on the podium.
