Hooters denied a Hooter's girl position because I'm a man

Any lawyers out there? Would it be wise to sue them for discrimination? I could serve beer and hot wings just as well if not better than any women out there and I feel my gender shouldn't be taken into consideration.

  1. This has been tried before and I don't think the outcome was positive for the plaintiff.  Not to mention,  you wouldn't make anywhere near as much money in tips as the hot chicks that work there.  Consider yourself lucky and go serve in a fine dining establishment where you can make some good coin.

  2. The theme of the restaurant is Hooters they hire woman. I have never been to the restaurant myself never had a desire to. However if they start hiring men in place of woman I would imagine this would hamper their sells.

Sometimes things are just obvious they do hire men just not as waitresses. I mean what is next men running for Miss USA ect.

There are also restrooms marked Male and female do you want the right to go into the female restrooms also?

I could see this one being abused already by perverts. Ain't happening.

Why would someone want to get a job at hooters to begin with this is obvious the wrong place for you. Why go there when you can work at any other restaurant in America and more likely make more money then you would there. If you wish to dress as a woman and waitress their are places that you could go to I'm sure. Who in their right mind would want to work some place that would pays less then the norm where as if you go to g*y bar or perhaps a bar that caters to g**s you would make more money and be in better company. That is if you are g*y if not why would you want a lower paying job?

  3. So sorry, someone already tried that a few times and didnt win. You wont!

  4. Thank God--   if you came to my table to take my order, see ya-  I'm outta there ... and the management knows that.  besides, you answered your own question, the job is a HOOTERS GIRL--     Go to Playboy and see if they want your picture in the mag--   chances are you'll get the same response--

  5. Been done; waste of a question

  6. It was already try and I don't know of any straight guy that would go to Hooters to see the males running around in shorts.

There are plenty of other places to work if you don't like Hooter's policy.

  7. But you don't have "hooters". If you do have "hooters", then you might have a case.

  8. Sorry scooter; that case has already been tried and lost.

I hate to say this but you may end up having to go out an make an honest living

  9. Absolutely rIght..

And you could probably handle problems better. ( such as sexual harassment etc

Agree with you Buddy, My daugter was a Blue Jays Dancer for 6 years and In Toronto we had a J- Team where where were boys as well as girls for dance routines etc. on field.

YEH TORONTO..WE BELIEVE IN EQUAL RIGHTS.

GO FOR A LAWYER .. BUT MAY BE EXPENSIVE.. TRY TO GET SOMEONE IN HUMAN RIGHTS AND FIND OUT LAWS BEFORE YOU GET ONE. ( SO YOU WILL BE INFORMED . TRY TO GET A PRO BONO LAWYER> INTERESTING CASE

  10. Yes you can sue, and yes you will win. There was a case in the past where a male sued hooters for this exact reason. The court decided that hooters had to hire the man, so no you won't get rich just that you will be allowed to work. However hooters has a uniform that is standard for all floor service people and you WILL be REQUIRED to ware the same uniform. So IF you want to where that very skimpy outfit I am sure they will dredge it back up from the first guy that sued them and give you his. BTW he quit inside a month because of 'personal' reasons. He made less in tips, was constantly seen and laughed at by customers, many people in his town ostracized him for his behavior and in general had an uncomfortable employment.

In sum, just sue them, they will then make a deal to let you work there. While there you will be allowed to where the 'standard' uniform and have to deal with all of the customers and citizens that now get to make remarks about you.

    Dillon.

  11. you have got to be kidding.  the position says girl and you obviously are not a girl so why would you even think you would have a right to sue?

A man should not be trying to get a position that is for females only and if he is denied go and gets legal council that is just wrong.

  12. Probably in the application, it must say the water's have to be female, but they aren't discrimating because there probably is males out back cooking the food, and stuff. Its won't be a good job for a male, when you have to work off tips. I don't think many men would leave you a big tip, just to see you in a skippy shirt and short short shorts.
