Hello,
I seen a few of your post and was hoping you could help me. I just became a member today. My sister gave me her old Hoover Steam Vac-Model F5809. This thing is so dirty and clogged because my sister has pets. So far I've gotten it all taken apart to clean it. I'm not a newbie and taking apart and fixing things. I have fixed things like microwaves, washers, dryers, dishwashers (still learning about TV's-very hard, hehe). Anyway, I got what I believe to be the motor cover off. I unhooked all the wires (yep I remember where they go, daughter was worried about that, hehe). I tried bringing up the diagram picture you posted for a person for this model but it's bringing up and advertisement. I tried saving the diagram and then zooming in but everything is blurry. Here is my problem. I have the motor out. I need to know if this one part is detachable so I can clean it but I'm not sure how to tell you what part it is unless I have the diagram. I will do my best and if you could let me know if there is a way this part comes off then that would be great. It's the motor with the white block type part on the top, it has two long screws on the side, redish wires wound up in the middle of it, on the bottom of this is a metal cover with tear drop like holes that are going side to side. Under this cover is something that spins with a nut a bolt. Does the cover metal cover with the holes come off? It is so clogged with hard pet hair, that it needs cleaned but I can't get it off? Please if u could give me any information then that would b greatly appreciated. I've tried the Hoover website and it says it can't find that model. Probably too old.
Thanks so much.
Misty
