Hoover Wind Tunnel U5720-950

Question

I was sucking up kitty litter and the vacuum stopped working. After letting the vacuum cool for an hour, I tried to run it and it quit after 3 to 5 seconds with a nasty burning smell.

I tried to take it apart to clean the motor out but can't figure out how to get to the motor.
