Hoover carpet cleaner

Question

The brushes have just stoped for no reason. I use it very often and have never had a problem. I called a repair man and he said it was a belt, then i called hoover and they said they dont have a belt. Im on a very fixed income so i cant aford to get someone to fix it. I took it apart and cleaned everything, and lubed what i knew would not hurt it. the spring was still in contact when i looked at it. what else could it be. and where would i look for it. it a hoover spin scrub.
