Hoover steam vac. I have a hoover steam vac model number f5809. I let my mother borrow it

Question

I have a hoover steam vac model number f5809.  I let my mother borrow it and when it wasn't working properly, she pulled a white hose out of the bottom of it.  I have no idea where it belongs.  Now it seems the cleaner is coming out, but it is not sucking it back into the tank.  Does anyone have any idea where this hose belongs???
