Hope I carry on good form till the end of tournament – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 – Cricket News Update
The swashbuckling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils' opening batsman and skipper, who set a record of scoring five consecutive half centuries in T20s with a fifty against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur on Tuesday night, hoped to carry on the good form
through the tournament.
Speaking to the media reporters after his side’s convincing 6-wicket win over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Anthony-Hibbert-c81005 said that he was lucky to have scored five half centuries
in a row and hoped he could carry on the fabulous form towards the end of IPL V.
"I believe I am lucky to have scored five 50's in a row,” said the 33-year-old right-handed batsman. “Hopefully, I will be able to carry on this good form till the end of the tournament," he added further.
Sehwag, who was dropped from Asia Cup squad just a month before the ongoing fifth instalment of the lucrative Indian Premier League, has been in top notch right from the start of the Twenty20 league. He has totalled 445 runs in 10
matches at an average of 49.44 and an impressive strike rate of 163.60.
With eight wins in 10 outings so far, the Delhi Daredevils, who finished last season at the bottom, not only find themselves at the top of the IPL-V standings but are also in a comfortable position to make the tournament playoffs.
However, the Daredevils' skipper does not want to tag his side as tournament favourites, as it would add to the pressure. "The tag of favourites always increases the pressure,” said the Delhi lad.
The Daredevils have not made it to the tournament payoffs since the 2009 edition. Sehwag also credited coach and support staff for team’s consistent performance.
“...credit to the support staff as they have helped us perform. Today, I thought about playing the last XI and the coach insisted that we pick Pawan Negi as the pitch was low and slow in nature. Negi bowled brilliantly," revealed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HA-Varaiya-c1520.
The Delhi based franchise will next play Kolkata Knight Riders at home on Monday, May 7, 2012.
