  1. I used to be a contact center manager for a very large company, trick of the trade to get these people off the phone......Ask them to hold whilst you finish your dinner and then put the phone next to you, if they offer to call back so no, do not terminate the call (unless you are abusive the agent can not disconnect the call)

After about 4 minutes pick the phone up and say 'won't keep you long'  The agent will only have a set amount of seconds to deal with the call. Although this won't stop the calls coming, if you will at least have a bit of fun with it lol

  2. I don't mind a survey if it's really a survey.  I only get angry if they tell me it's a survey and it's really either a loaded one designed to elicit improper results or a thinly veiled sales pitch.

  3. no you are not wrong ,just hang up on them thats all..

  4. In defense of pollsters, the only way to get an accurate sample is through random calling. If you just sampled people who were going to your web site, or who volunteered to fill out a survey, your cross-section would be skewed towards...well the type of people who seek out surveys to do (which is a pretty strange group).

So that's why not just companies, but researchers, and even the government, when they needs to get accurate samples, do phone surveys.

  5. No! Personally, I see them as an invasion of privacy. If I wanted to give them my opinion, I would call them. If they seriously need input from customers, they should put their polls on the internet, or email them. That is much less invasive.
