  1. No. All you need is proof of age. Birth certificate,or driving license,or passport.

  2. Hi Christine, I'm not quite in the silver surfer category yet, but I do know that you do need photo's for your railcard. If your bus pass runs out before March 08, you will need two photo's apparently. Not sure why though.

  3. yes & proof of age, Im 66

  4. You need a photo to get any kind of rail card in the UK.

  5. You do not need a photo.  All you need is proof of age.  The card is valid for a year and costs £24.  You have to complete a Senior Railcard form, every time you purchase a new Railcard.  If you pick up a form from a station display (they currently have images rather like a scene from Brief Encounter) you can complete it in advance - this saves time at the ticket window.

  6. You do not need a photograph to purchase a Senior Citizens Railcard, simply a valid UK driving license, a birth certificate or a passport number to prove you are eligible.

You'll also need £24 and stations will accept cash, cheques, cards and postal orders.

If you're renewing all you need is the old card (and of course the £24).

  7. No you do not need a photo card to obtain a senior railcard, just be 60 and over, have proof of ID for the first one and £20.

If you are over 65 check with your local council to see if there are or when you will be eligable for extra discounts or assistance with paying for one.

    Good luck
