Cruise ship is insisting on man's formal wear for dinner. Friends from Canada don't want to bring dinner suit. Have been told of "Floating Formals" but can't find them.

  1. They probably mean semi-formal.

Formal is top hat and tails.  Try Moss Bros.

  2. If you cant get a tux you can just wear a smart suit, shirt and tie. Lots of men do that as everyone doesnt like wearing a tux.

  3. Not sure if this is what you are looking for as question is on UK & Ireland but found this shop

Floating Formals Inc, 8512 Sw 8th St Miami, FL 33144, United States               (305) 267-1109

This might be the one you are looking for very close to Edgeware Tube & Bus Stations.

    Floating Formals

  4. no idea

  5. You can hire a dinner suit on the ship - depends who you cruise with but we went with Cunard and it is a Moss Bros on board so not too expensive, also saves having to pack the suit to take with you.

  6. You can rent a tux on any cruise ship.

I don't suggest you do so, but you may want the hassle and expense.

Sport coat and tie are acceptable on all formal nights.
