  1. well its up to you. Theres no right answer r wrong, you can get in shape by going to the gym and running miles on the tread mill and try and get your time down to 5 minutes. Just remember to pace yourself when your running

  2. a 5 minute mile is a very serious accomplishment, and is very difficult to achieve.  Depending on how much running you've done in the past, and how seriously you plan on taking this year, it could take anywhere from the entire year into the next year or two.  I started last year running a 6:30 mile, and dropped it 1 minute over the course of 3 seasons (XC, winter, spring).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

    Good luck!

  3. 5 min mile. but it all depends on the runners then the workouts well it depends on the races and workouts that you will experience in XC and track. if u want to hit a 5 min mile when try to run harder on long runs and focus on tempo workouts to keep pace. which helps alot! but after XC and track u should run 30mins a week >.> that ruins all ur running. try to run 3-4 the first 2 weeks and then bring up the milage to 5-6 the next 1 week then 7-8 the other and 8-10 the last week. that how u reach

  4. Probably a while. You better practice yo sprints, boy. Do yo HIIT.

And I pity the fool who says to practice on yo treadmill. A treadmill is not conductive to sprinting. This **** takes hard work and dedication and you need to practice yo sprinting hard to build up yo anaerobic endurance.

  5. with 30 miles a week, you will get in shape fast and it should only take a few weeks
