Horde Command DLC for Gears of War 3 fixed and ready for download on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace
Gears of War fans finally have something new to l**k their lips and rev up their machine gun chainsaws for, as Epic have announced that the Horde Command Downloadable Content Pack has been fixed, debugged and released for every Xbox 360 gamer’s pleasure.
There was a delay in the availability of the DLC pack as those who tried to download it earlier in the day faced a heart wrenching rejection in the form of “a technical issue”. However, Epic seemed to be working on the problem as it was back up and available
for download a few hours later.
Fans were both relieved and excited when Mark Rein from Epic Tweeted, “Good News! The Horde Command Pack is now available on the marketplace! Restart your Xbox to get the latest changes.”
Gears of War 3 had a record breaking opening week of sales, shattering the sales figures set by the previous two games in the series by some margin and topping the charts for a considerable amount of time.
The DLC will look to expand on the highly praised multiplayer element of the game and will bring a number of expansions and enhancements to the online mode. The DLC will be focusing on Gears of War 3’s addictive Horde mode where players look to survive a
series of waves of Locust and Lambent hordes.
Included in the Horde Command DLC are new achievements, which have the potential of adding 250 points to a player’s Gamerscore, new upgrades for fortifications in the mode, two weapon skins and three new maps for players to pit themselves against the often
intimidating foes.
One thing that fans will be looking forward to is the fact that the DLC also has three new playable characters. While it may be true that one can never tire of playing a Marcus Fenix and his squad of Gears, yet at the same time some new faces will not hurt
in keeping the game fresh.
Gears of War 3 has already earned a fair amount of revenue for its publisher, Microsoft games, and it seems that the DLC will do nothing but add to a few more notes to their considerably large ‘piggy bank’.
Epic have also confirmed that while Gears of War 3 was the end of the Marcus Fenix trilogy that there will be more games to come from the series, though the protagonist from the first three games will not feature.
One can expect a number of DLCs to follow Horde Command, as Microsoft and Epic will both be looking to support the considerable fan base of the game.
