Horizontal line of haze in night sky?

I was out in the backyard last night looking at the stars and noticed a horizontal line of haze about 10-15 feet wide and as far as I could see in length that was above our house and was moving with the direction of the wind. and I noticed another line of haze farther off in the distance.. they were at low altitudes. I live in the country with no houses or city lights around. Just curious if it was from possible temp or humidity differences maybe causing a line of condensation.

  1. Could be as you said.  I've seen fog several feet in the air covering a large area.  It could have been smoke from someone's fire, but most likely it was a thin fog bank.

  2. It could be fog. Fog could get lit up with little stray lights.
