Question:

Hormonal imbalance causing irregular period?

I got off of depo-provera in June/07. I started my period back in Jan./08. Now, I am bleeding for 6-7 days every other week. It has been like this since April. My doctor says there is something wrong with my hormones and I am waiting on the results from my bloodwork. Has anyone experienced this? What can they do for it? How hard is it going to be for me to conceive? I'm driving myself nuts worrying about it.

  1. I started on Depo as soon as I started being sexually active. My mom made me go on it, so we would only have to worry every three months. It never totally stopped by periods, and I quit doing it, becaues I heard of the fertility risks and stuff and I just sort of like my body to be pure. I didn't like he idea of not having a period, just not natural. My period never got back to normal, and I tried going on the pill. Since then, I've gone on two types of bc pills.

All in all though, the depo really ruined my cycle. bleeding for two weeks at a time, never knowing when...

I stopped going on bc period so I could get my cycles back on track. I stopped depo just before I turned 18, I'm 20 now. I blame the depo for all the hormonal imbalances!
