Horrible Cell Phone Drivers....?

Question

Why do people yak on the cell phone when they are driving? You know who you are, if you can't multi-task any other time, what makes you think you can do so on the road at the expense of someone's life? Cell phone drivers notably drive slower, have slower reaction time, hold up traffic and make stupid moves! Then they look at everyone else like they are wrong! What gives? I especially fear young teenage drivers who do this as they have little experience. Whats up?

In New Jersey, it's illegal to use electronics, iPods, cell phones.  Most of the people I see yappin' away are those "soccer moms," trying to drive, talk, and fix their hair at the same time.

Those people have a name, Cyborgs. They cant go anywhere without talking on their phones, listening to ipods, or being near a computer. Your right its stupid to do.

in england it is illegal to use a cell fone while driving , this should be a universal law unless of course you are using a hands free kit.

You have asked a question I've been asking myself ever since a guy, on the highway, almost crashed  into me while drinking coffee, driving, and talking on his cell. I won't be surprised if the greatest  percentage of accidents today involved such drivers  including teenage ones.Unfortunately, we now live in a society where people no longer care about their neighbors and the needs of others. While an increased enforcement of driving laws and maybe new ones may significantly lower the incidents of these type of drivers, I feel that a complete turn around in people's attitudes towards others is the answer.

Where i live in nc they have passed a new law

If you are under 18 you can not talk on a cell phone while driving

if caught they take it and fine you big time

I think that talking on a cell phone while driving should be illegal for any age

if the call is that important than you should be required to pull off in a safe location to take the call

people definatly do not watch where they are going while talking on the phone

I travel alot

every week i travel from nc to ohio and i am forever pulling my hair out at these people who have no reguard of where they are going because of that stupid little phone stuck to their ear.
