I injured my lower back really bad a few weeks ago. I believe it was when I woke up after raking the lawn pretty vigorous like. When the pain first hit me, it was COMPLETELY immobilizing. It took me upwards to an hour to slide off of my bed when I had to get up. I went to the doctor, who prescribed me vicodin, muscle relaxers, and 40mg doses of steroids. It was a weeks worth of medication, and I took it all as I was supposed to. Now about 3 weeks later, the steroids helped a little bit, but I am almost back to being almost paralyzed when in certain positions. Anyway, the pain goes across my tail bone, and down the left side of my butt. Doesn't travel down the leg though. Just in the hip/butt. I have been to a chiropractor this week and he is saying that my scoliosis is causing pressure on a nerve. And he says the ONLY treatment is coming in to get adjusted. I admit, the first time he did it, it felt great until I got to the parking lot and sat in my car. Then instantly it was all back. And sometimes I don't even move, and I'll get such a sharp pain so fast that it makes me scream, really loud. I appoligize for this being so long, but any advice is good advice right now. So I thought I'd go into detail.
Also: Chiropractor says I'd have to come in for treatment 3 times a week. 60-70 per visit = not able to afford over $200 extra a week.
And my regular doctor said to come back in 1 - 2 weeks (3 weeks ago) if it didn't get better, because I might have to have MRI's ect. And if I can't afford $200/week, I obviously can't afford to pay for that kind of test with no insurance. HELP!!! THANK YOU.
