  1. my arab always stumbles because she used to be lame in her left front leg.

if she used to be lame this may be the problem?

sometimes if your horse has long strides and you are holdin it back it can trip and fall.

try giving it abit of rein and really nudging it along.

get a really good active walk and the trot should flow nicely.

    :)

  2. Her feet may need a trim. Or, she's just bored with the routine and is not paying attention. Or she may be getting sick and is having a bit of a balance issue. She needs to be looked at first of all. And if she's fine in that department, she could use some variety in her life. If all she does is trails, vary her gait frequently to wake her up and get her thinking. Circle her, back her speed her up, slow her down. If you can use it, put her in an arena and work her over trot poles. These will help her carry herself better.

I had a horse who tripped a LOT. It got worse over time. He had nerve damage in his neck from a fall as a youngster. We put him into a training program that helped to strengthen his body so he could carry himself easier and he did much better. Part of the program was trot poles, also trails and hills, and longe line work to help him reach up under himself and carry his weight better.

  3. i would try locating you farrier and see if shes got a hoof problem other wise shes just realy realy clumbsy

  4. ok make sure you get a vet check

    ..

that she could be lame and you could not know it

and if she does it on purpose

make sure you keep her head up do not let her yank your reins away =)

  5. Have her feet checked.  I have a mare that grows a lot of toe and she gets trippy when it is getting close to time for a trim.

  6. one thing you can do is get your farrier to check out her hoffs or you should drive her and keep her away from rocks and stuff

  7. it depends if you are going downhill, horses have major issues keeping balance while going downhill. I suggest checking this horse's shoes to see if they fit properly.  My older 28 year old used to trip terribly and fall on his knees. He;s been bloodied up multiple times and I've flipped over his head over 6 times.  we put him on MSM and had his shoe trimmings move to 4 weeks instead of 6.  After lots of work- he is perfect!  I say have a farrier or a vet look at this horse's shoes, hooves, and lower legs to see if anything is amiss.  she may be sound, but something could be lurking to get worse.  Keep an eye on this

  8. try dome weighted boots that will make the horse pick up its feet. first get the hooves checked for soundness.

  9. d

  10. She's probably a bit clumsy. Ask your vet or farrier and have them check her feet and legs to see if their is an underlying cause. If not try trotting her over wooden ground poles that are evenly spaced. Once she smacks her feet on those a couple times maybe she will learn to pick up her feet. Then maybe do some little cavaletti, trotting and walking, (you can do this in a western saddle and they don't have to be the high in the air) and this should help her some. If not she's just a klutz, like some humans are.

  11. have her hooves checked maybe she has a stone or something in there or her hooves need to be cut, until you have them checked out i wouldn't ride her because it could be dangerous for her and you.

  12. have her feet checked, and be careful where your going, especially if your gonna go faster than a walk
