Can anyone tell me what it was like for you? Your most memorable thing? Worst and best thing? The cleanliness of the cabins or cafeterias and stufF? Im thinking of going to one but I wanna hear people out first.

  1. yay, i agree. If you are a good rider already.. you wont have that much fun. Bt what i did when i went to horse camp, me and my horse got to me a mentor. I got to help the instructors & play with the little kids. If you are just starting to ride, then horse camp will be good for you bc they go over all the basics in a fun way, and there are lots of other kids around so you willl fer sure make friends.

    have fun ;]

  2. Ok i loved it when i went to my first horse camp when i moved where i am and i was just begining 2 and after that i picked up horse back riding, and now ride every sat

Also are you ready to get thrown horses have those days and if you are afraid of that than i dont think you should get on but i dont mean to scare u i just want you to know that befor you commit to them and riding them and than if you get thrown or fall off and you dont ever want to get back on it will be sad to the horse the horse seems like it dosnt know you but it knows you after a while.

My instucter once told me that you are never a real rider until you have gotton thrown or fallen off the horse.

Also If you dont succed try try try again.

  3. It was amazing!!! really fun. The most memorable thing was when I learned how to barrel race faster. The cabins aren't spotless, but hey its camp. The cafeteria is always clean. I would totslly tell you to go. You'll have a great time and your riding skills will def. improve!

  4. well i've been to a couple different horse camps. the first one was a dissapointment because i was a level higher than they placed me, but the cabin and cafeteria was very clean and the food was great. the second one i just went to a couple weeks ago and it was great!! i made lots of new friends and learned a bunch too. the food was really good, even though we had tents not cabins that was fun and we all just took air mattresses :D you should go!! horse camps are always a lot of fun and you get to make new friends. plus, a place where you learn about horses cant be too bad :D besides its not that long so if you dont like it that much, you wont be there very long. i would say do it!! (and take sunscreen)

  5. If you like horses you will enjoy it.  Horse lovers are usually very nice people.

  6. My camp was a day-to-day camp. They used natural horsemanship, and also did trail rides. That's where I learned to ride, so I have very fond memories of the place. I still talk to the owners now and then. The worst thing was the price...lol The best was getting to ride my favorite horses. There were no cafeterias. Just a "hill" that had a covered area and lots of picnic tables. Nobody stayed there overnight. This was the daily routine- show up as early as you could to sign your name in and pick your favorite horse (If you had ridden that horse before you could sign yourself down), Get mounted up by 9 o'clock and go for the morning ride on property. That consisted of a little trail for the beginners and going to the "big field" to play horsey-type games for the more experienced. Red rover, leaf races, command, etc etc. Then get off and order lunch.. It was always pizza unless you brought your own from home. Then the workers would take out horses to demonstrate things on. saddling, bridling, grooming, horse parts, all that. The more experienced people could take out horses to groom or play with if they wanted. Then the afternoon ride was out at the near by park 160 acres... long story short I loved that place so much I decided to work there! Haha, found out it wasn't as much fun working..lol No really I loved being there no matter what.

  7. My advice is to look at the classes offered. Make sure the camp caters for all levels of riders and all the classes are seperate. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of eight year olds who are learning to trot

bringing your lunch is always much better than anything cooked there if it is a day camp.

Invest in summer breeches/jods!!! they are livesavers

Pick a camp that caters to something you like or want to learn more about eg hunter jumper dressage etc. (If your an english rider

Thats about all I can think about

    Hope I could help!

  8. well i went to a sleepover camp with horses and It was alright the main problem that I had is that they are great for beginners but if you are already a good rider they just go over the same things you already know! Anyway the place is pretty clean  well at least the place I went to and so is the cafeteria but really you have to rember it is a kids camp and well it is no fine dining resturant!
