I have a tb gilging thats 4 and has bad stifle lock ups. My vet said to work him alot and have been but I don't want to over do it. I work him in the round pen for about 30 min. a day and he sweats alot and other ideas on how to work him. I do walk him over poles, and run him a bit

  1. If he is going to race, then work him until you can star riding him. A horse by the name of Da Hoss had something like that, and he went on to win two Breeder's Cup races in 1996 and 1998.

  2. Thats about all you can do!

  3. Bugger ey that sucks... we had a racer that developed that prob and we had to retire him... Have you tried stretching out his legs?? Working over poles is the only other thing i can think of... i'm not sure just working him will do much except loose the area so he gets more freedom of movement but then he may just lock up again shortly after you work him...
