  1. The main problem you have is overcoming health and safety regulations.  Unfortunately more and more stables are reluctant to take on youngsters for this very reason.

Are you looking for a full-time job or just weekends/evenings?  If full-time I'd seriously suggest you go to college first - you can take courses in horse management (I did a 2 year BTEC ND in Horse Management when I left school), it means you can spend time with horses whilst earning a qualification.

If you are after weekend/evening work, then ask around at your local stables and see if they want someone to lend a hand.

  2. Erm....try to find out init.

  3. Its easy to find a job cleaning the barn. Usually you can work your way up to better then that.

  4. I think you could definately find someone to let you clean stalls and probably turn out and bring in horses.  Depending on how strong a rider you are and how accepting your boss is, you might even find someone who lets you teach kids/beginners... I was lucky enough to find someone who would let me do that, but I think it's a pretty rare thing.  And if you're around the barn working hard enough, they might let you get on and train with them, but you probably won't find anyone who is going to allow that right away... only after they learn to trust you.  I'd suggest going to various barns and introducing yourself and telling them about your experience and what you're willing to do.  Good luck!
