Today I saw that my horse lost a shoe :( now he only has one shoe.. Farrier is coming tomorrow. I let her back in the field because she gets quite stressed in her stable with no company. Will her feet be ok?

  1. She will be fine, just make sure the farrier takes care of it tomorrow!!

(your lucky it happened when the farrier was scheduled to come out anyway)

  2. This happens to horses all the time.  she'll be fine.  If she appears to be uncomfortable then put her back in her stall, else just leave her out as normal.

  3. As long as your horse is in a safe environment, being without a shoe for just a day should be fine.  Don't use the horse on rocky terrain or anywhere she can get bruises.  Most likely, she'll stay on surfaces that are comfortable for her.

  4. She should be fine as long as she satys on the soft grass and don't worry because the farrier will sort it. I one rode a horse that had no shoes on over stony ground and he was fine!!

  5. Her foot will be fine for one day without a shoe...just dont work her hard, if at all (depends how bad her feet are without shoes..) No need to do anything with her foot, good you could get your farrier out tomorrow anyways!

    Happy Trails

  6. your horse will be fine!!! I am a farrier and it won't hurt your horse to be out to pasture for a day even 2 with one shoe

  7. She should be fine. If you're really worried, you could put duct tape or vet wrap on her foot to prevent cracking, but she's probably ok without it :)

  8. She will be fine.  Not a problem, horses have lived with out a shoe for a lot longer than a day.
