Horse Photo Tips?

Does anyone have any tips on how to take good horse jumping photos? (show jumping)

  1. use flash only when the horse has go the eye guard things or else the horse might get surprised.

  3. I'm hoping that you are using an SLR (single lens reflex) camera because the little point and shoot ones aren't going to cut it.  In film or digital, just increase your shutter speed so that you get a stop action effect, which is what I'm assuming that you're asking.

  4. Use a very fast shutter speed or you'll have motion blur.

  5. take the pic just before the horse takes off so the shot will show the horse jumping etc etc. just take the pics a little earlier for whatever jumping position you want.

  6. when the horse is in the air, quick take a photo

  7. If you use DSLR pre-focus at place where the horse is going to jump so you won't loose any time for autofocus and it won't focus on something else accidentally.

  8. you'll need a camera with a fast shutter speed and a camera with an action mode.
