  1. Bareback makes you a better rider.  You are able to achieve a greater level of balance and rhythm.  You get stronger legs and a better bond with your horse.  Hold on with your inner thighs..Not you knees and not your calves.  Walk at first and become comfortable with it.  Then you can try a slow trot and when you are comfortable with that, something faster.

  2. strong legs....put on a bridle and go

  3. The "how" is easy...just don't use a saddle.  If you don't want to get dirty, you can buy a bareback pad, which looks like a saddle pad with a girth.  The benefits of riding bareback is that you get really really good balance, and learn how to feel your horse better.  I think that if you are a competant bareback rider, it makes you a way better rider in the saddle, because you really learn to sit the horse's rhythm better.

  4. bareback really helps you learn how to balance better

  5. Riding bareback is so much fun!!

It's riding without a saddle/saddlepad. It's kind of confusing at first because you're so used to just falling into place from the saddle, but when you start you really have to work at keeping your seat... the benefits are you bond with your horse, grow stronger and get AWESOME balance!

Use the mounting block at first to get on because it's easier on the horses back. When you're on, you want to sit just behind the withers like this girl: http://lakestlouisstables.com/images/gal...

Because if you end up sliding too far back you can end up on the sensitive part of the horses back, which hurts. If the horse is older and/or has a bad back, bareback isn't the kindest thing because its rougher on them and they don't have a saddle pad or cusion giving them protection.

But just have fun!!! :) it's awesome haha. And I wouldn't reccomend wearing your nice riding pants because they'll get pretty dirty. Another thing I love about riding bareback is that you can wear shorts when it's really hot out! lol

  6. barebacking is so much fun..there are so many benifits like you physically get stronger and you and your horse get a better understnding for eachother ... although...dont ride a horse bareback that u cant trust because you have a lot less control..also if your horse has a bony back then you should get a pad which are fairly inexpensive..And i will garuntee you will be sore lol it requires a lot of strength. but the good thing is that you will have better balance when riding with a saddle..hope this helps good Luck!!!

  7. The benifits of bareback is you really know how your horse moves and you are one with the horse!! Another benifit is you practice your balance!! I love riding bareback and it is harder than a saddle but once you get used to it it is really fun!! All you do is get on the horse with no saddle...sit at the withers and sit up tall and straight. Hang on to the reins. You can hold onto the horses hair if it makes you feel more comfertable! It is really fun and I think you should try it!!

  8. its not that hard. just dont use a saddle pad and saddle. the benifits are leg strength, being able to ride without stirrups in an emergency, communication with your horse, and lots of others. just do what you would normally do with your horse.

  9. The benefits of riding bareback are endless...really!

Put your bridle on and hop onboard and ride with no saddle, it's GREAT!!!

    Good luck!
