  1. Saying "quarter horse palomino" would most likely mean a quarter horse crossed with a palomino. Whereas, saying "palomino quarter horse"  would mean a quarter horse with a palomino coloring. (Palomino is a color breed, so horses can be registered as a palomino.)

  2. They are talking about the colour of the horse - many people don't consider Palamino to be an actual breed due to the fact that it is a colour - not an actual blood line. Palamino is considered a colour registry unlike the QH, TB, Welsh etc.

  3. Palomino is a color of horse. That means the horse is quarter horse that is palomino, which is a blond color.

  4. They would mean a Quarter Horse who is Palomino in color. palomino is not a breed, some people think it is, but most breeds can be palomino, there is no specific breed called that, which is only palominos or something.

  5. obviously a quarter horse that's palomino because that's a color not a breed. its a dilution of bay... thats why creamello ins a double dilution because thats what you get from too palomino's

  6. There is no such thing as a Palomino breed. Palomino is just a color. They can still be called a Palomino or be registered as a Palomino but the truly are just the color Palomino which is a blond color. If someone says a Quarter Horse Palomino they just mean that the horse is a Quarter Horse breed and is the color Palomino or blond. I hope that I helped!

  7. If they say Palomino after QH, it probably means a cross. If they say QH after Palomino, they probably mean the color. Hope this helps! :)

  8. There is no such thing as a palomino BREED. i know a lot of people think that palomino is a breed, but its not. its just a color. they do have a registration.. but that is strictly for their color.  they can be a quarterhorse and be registered as a palomino also.

so when someone says a quarter horse palomino, they mean a qh that is palomino color.

  9. Palomino is a color. Its not really a breed even though there is a registry for it. It's really a color registry. So, a QH palomino is a quarter horse that has the palomino color. That horse may also be registered as a palomino, but again that is just the color.

  10. i would think a quarter horse that palomino in color.

we have lots of palomino's at my barn and we just call them palomino's like they are a breed, when in fact they are quarter horses.

  11. yes that means that the qh is a palomino color

  12. A palomino is a COLOR breed - not a normal breed like a quarter horse.  so a horse can be double registered color and breed.  so yes, they mean a QH that is palomino in color.  there are no palomino QH crosses.

  13. Palomino is a color of horse, Quarter Horse is a breed, however there are Palomino Registration also, Just like a Paint is a color but also has a registry. ( Paint has Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred bloodlines only) and a Pinto is any other breed but has the markings. It can be confusing. Buckskin is also a color but also has a registry. So when they say Quarter Horse Palomino, they are saying it's breed is a QH and color is Palomino. Hope this helps.

  14. it means that the breed of the horse is quarter horse, and the color is palomino

  15. Palomino is not a true breed, it is a " color" breed. A horse registered as a palomino can be any breed.

A Quarter Horse can be the palomino color, but the correct term would be palomino Quarter Horse. A  QH crossed with a palomino of any other breed besides QH would be a palomino cross only if it were palomino colored.
