Horse Racing: A lot of expectations from Khalid Abdullah’s colt ‘Make a Dance’
The racehorse, “Make a Dance”, will be making an appearance in the much awaited and flaunted Qipco 1000 Guineas Newmarket event that takes place on Sunday. Her fans and connections have big expectations from the racehorse and her performance in the Newmarket
classic.
The filly is owned by Khalid Abdullah and is currently one of the foremost favourites of the Newmarket classic. Previously, her odds were as high as 40-1 for the race but now she has been quoted as 12-1 for the Qipco event.
‘Make a Dance’ is trained by the famed trainer, Barry Hills. When he was approached by the correspondents regarding the plans for this season, he was reported as saying, “She was very impressive when she won her maiden at the end of last season at Newmarket
and she has matured nicely over the winter”.
He further went on to say, “It is never easy to tell where you stand when it’s your first run of the year, but if her homework is anything to go by she should have a good chance”.
On the other hand, the trainer, Mick Channon, said that before confirming any of his two expected trainees for the Qipco meeting, he will assess the weather conditions at Newmarket.
The two racehorses that Channon might be saddling in this race are owned by Jaber Abdullah. These are Show Rainbow and Majestic Dubawi. The former is a fourth place finisher of the Nell Gwyn Stakes while the latter was last of the six contenders in the European
Free Handicap.
According to reports, Channon watched his trainees work hard for the upcoming event on Tuesday. After the training sessions he said that both the racehorses were in their best form and all ready for the big run.
He further said that he will wait for any rainfall, if there is, next week, prior to his final commitment regarding the participation of his trainees.
Both the racehorses trained by Channon are being quoted at odds of 100-1 for this event and might give the trainer his first victory on Sunday.
