Horse Racing: Case hopes for National victory with Dance Island
The trainer of the talented racehorse Dance Island has tied high expectations for his trainee regarding the upcoming high profile event flaunted with the name of  Coral Welsh National meeting. The event has been rescheduled to take place this Saturday and
Ben Case is so hopeful that his colt will claim the event that the sponsors have best-priced him at 12-1.
The racing career of the eight year old racehorse is rather impressive. From four of his career starts, the colt has been successful in finishing three of these events in at least one of the first three slots. On the basis of his performances so far, Dance
Island’s trainer has a firm conviction that his trainee will prove the best of his talent and potential in this particular Grade 3 Chase meeting.
Talking to the correspondents about the development of his trainee, trainer Ben Case said that the colt ran at a pretty good pace in the first race that he contended over the fences after which he was out of breath at Haydock and thus only managed to finish
the event in the second place. He added that the colt is now at an optimum racing weight of 10st 7lb, meanwhile he is fond of the ground at Chepstow and there are chances of further improvement in his performance.
The best of his career performance was given by Dance Island in April of the last racing season when he was the runner up to the winner in the Matalan Mildway Novices’ Chaseat Aintree. His performance in this event did indeed won him a great fan following
as he remarkably finished second by just over three lengths by the runner up of the Hennessy Gold Cup Burton Port.
Dance Island’s trainer further added, “His form over the fences is very good, his Aintree second to Burton Port is very good form.”
The trainer further went on to say, “Haydock was only his fourth run over the fences but he seemed to jump well enough and I think mentally and physically he’s well up to the task.”
On the other hand, the famed trainer Paul Nicholls today announced that his undefeated colt Big Buck’s will not be taking part in the Betfair Cleeve Hurdle since he is to peform better in the World Hurdle event and thus needs to save up some energy.
