Horse Racing: David Bradley crowned Employee of the Year by Godolphin
David Bradley, the head horse groom in the staff of Jeremy Noseda, was awarded the title of Employee of the Year at the seventh annual Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards ceremony, which was a fairly grand event held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower
Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge on Monday.
For the presenting of the stunning Godolphin Trophy, the celebrated jockey Frankie Dettori was called on stage as guest presenter of the groom’s award. Also part of the reward for Bradley’s commitment and services, was a cheque for 25, 000 pounds;
part of the money gotten through the cheque (10, 000 pounds, to be exact) will go to the rest of the staff employed by Noseda.
Noseda was the one who had nominated Bradley for the award and said that the groom was, by far, the finest staff member that he had ever had the pleasure of working with and he truly believed that Bradley deserved the honour.
The judges at the panel were all faced with a tough decision since all the 2011 finalists, each of whom were present at the ceremony, had proved to be exceptionally accomplished in their respective fields. However, a verdict had to be announced and
the judges thought well and hard before declaring Bradley the winner.
The decision to crown Bradley Employee of the Year came after a formal judging day, which was held at the headquarters of the British Horseracing Authority. Here, the finalists interacted with and were interviewed by the judging panel.
Finally, the head of the panel, Brough Scott said that although the decision had been hard due to the competence of the nominees, Bradley stood out because of his international and local experiences and future planning; which are unique attributes
that the judges were looking for.
An exclusive audience of 150 people from within the horseracing industry was in attendance of the ceremony to salute the leading stud and stable staff in Britain, as nominated by their employers and peers. The awards - 120, 000 pounds in cash - are
sponsored by Godolphin and run jointly by the Racing Post and the BHA.
