Horse Racing: First time for Tote as Midlands Grand National sponsor

Tote, for the very first time in its history, has stepped up as the sponsor of the Midlands Grand National which is to take place on Saturday, 19 March,  at the Uttoxeter Racecourse in Aintree. This year, the Grand National will have its anniversary of sorts
as it will be the 40th running of the race. The Tote is known for, and has acted as a sponsor, for many races and will continue to do so even on the day that the Grand National is held, but its priority will be to back up the entire programme which
involves and is divided into seven further races.
The Midlands Grand National is a marathon covered by four and a half miles and was won last year by Synchronised, a horse eight years of age, ridden in the Grand National by jockey, Tony McCoy and trained by the renowned Jonjo O’Neill. This marathon is now
being added to the rather long and significant list of events that the Tote has supported including, but not limited to, the most recent events to be held at Aintree, the Becher Chase whick took place over the National fences, the Classic Chase held at Warwick
and the Grand National Trial which has currently been decided to take place at Haydock (the venue could be subject to change due to poor weather conditions).
The director of racecourse business at the Tote, Mr. Jason Brautigam was reported as saying that the Totesport.com Midlands Grand National will prove to be the ideal highlighting point in the Road to Aintree series, which holds a list of events backed by
the Tote. Mr. Brautigam went on to add that Tote is extremely excited and glad to strengthen the partnership that has formed between themselves and Uttoxeter and Northern Racing by funding and supporting one of the most important races in the programme laid
out by the group.
The prices of tickets for entry to the main fields have already been decided at the rates of 23 pounds and 28 pounds per person upon entry on the very day of the Grand National, while a discount of 3 pounds is being offered upon advanced booking of the event,
online. The discount offer is available only on Uttoxeter Racecourse’s official website and has been attracting many horseracing fans.
