Horse Racing: Hurricane Fly and Solwhit All Set To Lock Horns
Hennessy, at Newbury, and Fighting Fifth, at Newcastle, are the two events that are the centre of attention for horse racing fans. Apart from these two clashes, taking place this Saturday, the 27th of November, another major event will be kicking-off on the other side of the Irish Sea. This event is scheduled to take place at Fairyhouse, and is expected to become the debatable topic, on Sunday. The most prestigious of the three Grade l competitions, is considered to be the Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grade Hurdle. Hurricane Fly and Solwhit, are the two colts, expected to lock horns in this event.
Solwhit is heading the ante-post betting for the 2 ½ miles race at the moment. The race-horse has a health benefit over his chief competitors, since he stole the show at Punchestown, at the start of this month, by holding off Voler La Vedettr and Donnas Palm. Solwhit will be encountering both of these colts this weekend. On the other hand, Hurricane Fly proved his potential against Solwhit in the Radobank Champion Hurdle that took place at the Punchestown Festival, earlier this year in April.
Hurricane Fly and Solwhit are being considered on the same scale for the aforementioned upcoming event, this weekend. Nonetheless, the surface of the track might favor Solwhit’s
performance, at this trip. The underfoot conditions of the Fairyhouse ground are described as being soft. If the ground is to remain as such, on Sunday, it can be mentioned that Hurricane Fly will be disadvantaged, since the colt’s performance is affected by the soft ground.
The winner of last year’s edition, of this event, is named   as Oscar Dan Dan. He is also one of the contenders this year. The colt claimed a victory in the Grade II Lismullen Hurdle
that was held at Navan, under the care of Thomas Mullins. Jumbo Rio is another contender for the upcoming event. The two horses are to encounter each other, once again, this Sunday. Jumbo Rio will be participating in this event, under the training of Eddie O’ Grady. So far, there are 13 entries for the Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grade Hurdle, however some drop outs are expected.
