Horse Racing: Jessies Dream returns to course
It has been reported that the talented racehorse Jessies Dream has started to train for the upcoming Cheltenham Festival and will continue his preparations for the mega event at Leopardstown on Sunday. The colt has been reported to be the second favourite
with the sponsors for the RSA Chase. This is the first event at which the colt has been targeted after he was successful in claiming the Drinmore.
The eight-year-old racehorse has been training under the care of trainer Gordon Elliott. The duo clinched victory in One Bar Racing Drinmore Novice Chase. It was a Grade I event that took place at Fairyhouse in December. Moreover, it was reported today that
the colt landed on the course for the Grade II Tote Pick Six Killiney Novice Chase.
When the trainer of Jessies Dream was approached by the correspondents about his plans with the racehorse, he was reported as saying that the jockey Timmy Murphy will be riding his trainee in the event. He also revealed that the colt’s owner David Johnson
has retained the jockey since this meeting was a part of their plan since the Drinmore start. He further added that he is not certain whether Jessies Dream will run again afterwards.
On the other hand, his stable mate Tharawaat will not be contending the race against Jessies Dream since his connections have planned him to send the racehorse for the Novice Chase that has been scheduled to take place at Gowran Park. This race will be a
feature of the Red Mills Thyestes Chase Day that will be starting in two weeks.
Meanwhile the colt Tijuana Dancer has been reported to become the latest favourite with the sponsors for the MCR Hurdle that will be taking place on Sunday. The odds of the racehorse have been cut down to 13-2 (from 8) by Stan James.
Another significant development that took place today was the announcement made by the trainer Philip Hobbs about sending out his trainee Planet Of Sound to contend the prestigious William Hill King George VI Chase. The trainer also said that he is very
hopeful that Planet Of Sound will steal the show if the champion and hot favourite competitor Kauto Star fails to shine. Apart from that he said that it would be difficult for his racehorse to hold off Kauto Star if he is in his perfect form, however he expects
him to finish the race in one of the first three places. The King George meeting will be taking place at the Kempton racecourse on Saturday.
