Horse Racing: Kempton receives light rainfall before the Racing Post Chase 
It has currently been reported that the Kempton racecourse received up to 3 mm of rainfall on Wednesday morning and more is still expected, according to the reports from the Met Office. The drizzle that is expected will however not be more than 1-2
mm. The officials of the racecourse are not very glad with the whole weather scenario since the Racing Post Card is to take place on Saturday. Rain can cause problems like water logging which can render the racecourse unfit for racing.
Thursday has been forecasted to be a dry day throughout the country with sunny spells. There is again a risk of heavy rainfall on Friday, just before the chase event. It has been revealed that it can rain up to 3 mm to 6 mm on Friday evening and then
Saturday morning.
When the clerk of the Kempton racecourse, Brian Clifford was approached by the correspondents about the conditions of the racecourse, he said that the going at the moment is soft and there is a forecast of rain on Friday night, which will keep the
ground in the same condition after two dry days.
The Ayr meeting on Thursday is also subject to a 7 a.m. inspection before the meeting gets a go ahead. The reason for the inspection is the same that overnight rainfall has been forecasted on Wednesday. Some light rain was also received throughout
the day on Wednesday; nonetheless, Thursday is to remain dry. The final decision about the meeting will be announced after the morning inspection.
Meanwhile the meeting at Fairyhouse today was given a go ahead after an inspection at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The officials of the racecourse were delighted that the course passed the inspection after there was heavy overnight rainfall. The seven race
card took place today at Fairyhouse and offered some quality racing events. The Grade III Juvenile race was claimed by the champion racehorse Little Green, after four competitors struggled for the first spot. However, Little Green comfortably held off the
field under the jockey Paul Towend and won the race.
