Horse Racing: Master Minded to run against a field of nine rivals

The much anticipated Keith Prowse Hospitality Tingle Creek Chase will be featuring the champion racehorse Master Minded who will be running against nine of his rivals on Saturday.
Apart from Master Minded, one of the contenders of this race is Poquelin who has also been training under the care of Paul Nicholls, like Master Minded. He was the only entry that was made to the field at the 48 hour declaration stage on Thursday. Meanwhile,
the winner of the Tingle Creek two times, Twist Magic has been entered for the Totesport.com Peterborough Chase on Sunday. The aforementioned event is planned to take place at Huntingdon, only if the big freeze does not get to the racecourse on the weekend.
Master Minded is perhaps the most significant contender of this race and his trainer is expecting him to steal the show on Saturday. Master Minded tried really hard to win the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase last season, but unfortunately could
not make it to the first spot. Nonetheless, he did not give up and pleased his connections and fans by claiming victory in the Ascot’s Amlin 1965 Chase.
The initial plan was that the jockey Noel Fehily will be riding the racehorse in the event but things did not work out. The jockey was declared unfit for taking the horse to the field, by Dr. Michael Turner. As a result, Master Minded’s connections decided
to appoint the much celebrated jockey Tony McCoy. Now McCoy will be riding Master Minded in the Tingle Creek Chase, with renewed enthusiasm after he has been awarded the title of Sportsman of the Year. He was also Master Minded’s partner in the 2008 edition
of the same event. If he McCoy manages to claim the honours this time as well, it will indeed have a very positive effect on his ongoing campaign for the Sports Personality of the Year Award that will be announced on the 19th of December 2010.
After the event at Sandown was called off last weekend due to the extremely frosty conditions, Cheltenham will be staging the Grade I show piece in which some of the most talented colts in the country will be taking part. The names of these significant contenders
include that of Gauvin, Kalahari King and Somerby. The clerk of the Cheltenham course has assured that it will be staging all the scheduled fixtures this weekend.
