As the Dubai World Cup is scheduled to take place in March at Meydan, trainer Michael Bell is ambitious to carry out a significant international campaign for his dominating three year old colt, Wigmore Hall.
Bell is hoping a successful trip to Dubai, after which he plans to take his racehorse to Audemars Piguet QE II Cup that is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in April. The following month, Wignore Hall, the son of High Chaparral
will also be taken to Kranji to contend the Singapore Airlines International Cup, Singapore.
Wigmore Hall proved his talent and potential by his splendid performance in the Grade I Secretariat Stakes that took place back in August, when he finished runner-up to Paddy O’Prado.
The racehorse has given a couple of good performances in his athletic career and thus is considered to be one of the most fancied of Bell’s trainees. The most recent of his commendable performances is the one that he gave in Champion
Stakes that took place at Newmarket in October 2010. Throughout the race, the champion ran well, but unfortunately finished fifth to Twist Over, four lengths behind the winner.
Michael Bell is more than excited to take his horse to all the important international racing events that will be kicking off in 2011. He is also hoping that Wigmore Hall will not let him down and take over the field in all of
his career starts in the next racing season. The enthusiastic trainee was approached to talk about his future plans with his leading colt. He said, “We are hoping that Wigmore Hall can become our first ever runner in Dubai. We intend him in a trial out there
in ‘Super Thursday’ to see how he handles Tapeta before deciding whether to go for the World Cup.”
Bell went on to say, “He has not run on the all-weather here before but works well on it so we are hopeful. If not, we can revert to grass for races like the Sheema Classic or Dubai Duty Free Stakes.”
Talking to sports correspondents, he further added, “Beyond that, we would be looking at valuable Group I contests in Hong Kong and Singapore with him.”
On the other hand, Pascal Bary believes that his racehorse Interaction can give him another victory in Grade I start in Dubai this March.
